WISER tES is a non-invasive brain stimulation device and used for modulating cortical activity only. This device is used for non-invasive, safe and painless stimulation of different cortical regions of the brain. A transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) delivery device that can apply low intensity direct current (in the range of 1-2 mA) using bio-conducting electrodes placed on the scalp. This neuromodulation technique is capable of altering excitability of underlying brain regions of interest in a polarity-dependent manner, depending on the nature of stimulation (anodal or cathodal).
WISER tES will be used in examining the neurobiological aspects of cognition and for therapeutic potential in psychiatric and neurological disorders like Depression, Schizophrenia, Obsessive-Compulsive disorder, Stroke recovery.
